Fitting in at school isn’t easy at the best of times, and when there’s something about you that makes you stand out it can be even more difficult. Add in the pressure that every woman feels to be shaved and hairless at all times and fitting in at school could have been a real nightmare for Supatra Susuphan, also known as ‘the hairiest girl in the world’.
Supatra Susuphan, also known as Natty, is a 17 year old girl from Bangkok, Thailand. In 2010 she was entered into the Guinness Book of World Records as she was officially named ‘the hairiest girl in the world. As you can see, her hair almost entirely covers her face and even grows over her eyelids! Here’s a video of Natty when she was younger, going shopping, getting a haircut and playing with her friends.
Supatra Susuphan suffers with the extremely rare Ambras Syndrome, which is also known as Werewolf Syndrome, which is what makes her grow so much hair. It’s a condition that’s been around since the middle ages, but it has only ever been known to affect around 50 people worldwide since it’s discovery. It’s a genetic condition and causes the sufferer to grow thick hair not only on their face, but everywhere on their body except the palms of their hands and soles of their feet.
